Reef Pro’s GFO (granular ferric oxide) is the best and fastest way to quickly reduce phosphates in the aquarium.
Directions: Start with 8 tbsp per 25 gallons. To reduce phosphates effectively, measure out amount needed and pour into a mesh bag or into a reactor. Rinse out media in RO/DI water or saltwater before use to remove all the fine particles and dust. If using a mesh bag, be sure to place in a high flow area. Once phosphates are in the desired range, 0.02-0.04ppm, it is recommended the media be changed out every 30 days for maximum effectiveness in maintaining lower phosphate levels.
If phosphate levels are 0.20ppm or higher, replace media every 4-5 days. Due to higher phosphate levels, the media will be depleted faster.
Reef Pro’s GFO is great for removing phosphates quickly. It is greatly recommended to use Reef Pro’s Aluminum Oxide for maintaining Phosphate levels low for a longer period of time.
150 Grams treats up to 90 gallons of water.
